GHS Implements Measures to Curb Mpox Outbreak in Ghana

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced a series of proactive measures to contain the recent Mpox outbreak, following the confirmation of cases in the Accra Metropolitan Area. These initiatives aim to prevent further transmission and ensure public safety. Confirmed Cases and Response As of mid-May 2025, Ghana has recorded three confirmed Mpox cases. The latest case, identified in February, was recently reported, bringing the total to three for the year. All patients are exhibiting mild symptoms and are under self-isolation. Health officials are actively conducting contact tracing and community surveillance to identify and monitor potential exposures .
