Police deploy 1000 officers after Maiduguri mosque bombing

The Borno State Police Command has deployed more than 1,000 officers across Maiduguri and other key locations in the state after the bomb attack on a mosque that killed five people and injured 35 others. The explosion happened on Wednesday evening at Al Adum Mosque in the Gamboru Market area of Maiduguri while worshippers were observing the Maghrib prayer. On Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer in Borno, ASP Nahum Daso, said the command had stepped up security measures in response to the attack. He explained that although security arrangements were already in place, the new deployment was meant to make security more effective during the festive period.
