Six killed as Lakurawa terrorists attack mosque in Kebbi

Bandits attack Zamfara mosque, kill five, abduct worshippers

At least five worshippers were killed and several others abducted on Friday morning when armed bandits attacked a mosque in Yandoto village, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, during early morning prayers. Residents said the gunmen stormed the mosque around dawn and opened fire indiscriminately, killing five people instantly and injuring many others. “They came while we were praying and just started shooting,” one witness recounted. The attackers reportedly abducted an unspecified number of worshippers before retreating into the surrounding forests. When contacted, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, said he had not yet received a briefing from the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area.
