US delivers critical military assets to battle terrorists, bandits
Nigeria’s fight against terrorists and bandits has received a major boost with the delivery of critical military assets from the United States. US Africa Command said the equipment was handed over in Abuja to support ongoing security operations against terrorists and other non state armed groups. AFRICOM described the shipment as “critical military supplies” but did not disclose the specific platforms or weapons involved. The command said the delivery underscores the strong security partnership between both countries and is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s frontline capabilities. The new support follows US assisted “precision hits” on ISIS affiliated Islamic State West Africa Province targets in Jabo, Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State on December 24.
