Man Who Drove Into Liverpool Title Parade Crowd Faces Sentencing
Prosecutors say 54 year old Paul Doyle steered his Ford Galaxy into dense crowds celebrating Liverpool’s record equalling 20th English top flight title in the city centre on May 26. He struck dozens of people over several minutes, at one point reversing into more victims and even colliding with an ambulance before the vehicle was finally brought to a stop. Investigators recorded 134 people injured, including children, with around 50 needing hospital treatment, though no one was killed.
