Alcaraz edges Zverev in epic Australian Open semi as German questions timeout
World number one Carlos Alcaraz reached his first Australian Open final after outlasting Alexander Zverev in a five set marathon that both men called one of the best battles of their careers. The Spaniard won 6 4, 7 6, 6 7, 6 7, 7 5 in a gruelling contest lasting more than five hours on Rod Laver Arena. Alcaraz appeared to be cruising at two sets to love up before suffering what looked like cramp in his leg late in the third set.
