Alleged medical negligence: Sanwo Olu orders probe into death of Chimamanda Adichie’s son
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu has ordered an immediate investigation into alleged medical negligence linked to the death of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s 21 month old son, Nkanu Nnamdi. The child reportedly died on January 6 at a private hospital in Lagos after a brief illness. The state government said it had received a formal complaint from Adichie detailing her account of what happened at the facility. In a widely shared statement, the author accused the hospital and an anaesthesiologist of reckless conduct during and after a medical procedure on her son.
