ARCC issues directives for Queenmother’s burial rites

The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) has urged residents of the Greater Kumasi metropolis to strictly adhere to directives from the Manhyia Palace as the late Queenmother, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, is laid to rest on Thursday, September 18, 2025. According to the directives, schools and markets will be closed on the day. Pharmacies, banks, fuel stations, restaurants, and transport operators have been exempted from the restrictions on movement. Utility companies and essential service providers, including the Electricity Company of Ghana, Ghana Water Company Limited, Fire Service, Ambulance Service, and Health Service personnel, have also been exempted. Asantehene Reclaims 28 Precious Artefacts Looted During Sagrenti War.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has received 28 cultural artefacts looted during the Yaa Asantewaa War, also known as the Sagrenti War.
