NAFDAC Seizes ₦1.2bn Fake Malaria Drugs in Lagos Raid
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has confiscated counterfeit malaria medicines worth over ₦1.2 billion during a warehouse raid in Ilasa-Oshodi, Lagos State. The agency revealed in a statement on its official X handle that officials intercepted 277 cartons of fake and unregistered Malamal Forte tablets, concealed in boxes falsely labelled as Diclofenac Potassium 50mg. Investigations showed that the drugs were illegally imported from Shanxi Tianyuan Pharmaceuticals Group in China and falsely declared as spare parts in the shipping manifest.
