Bawumia: Akufo-Addo’s Legacy Will Be Celebrated by Future Generations​

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President and 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed confidence that posterity will vindicate the achievements of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.  Speaking during the party’s Thank You Tour, Dr Bawumia praised the former President’s leadership, noting that his numerous contributions to national development would be recognised and appreciated in time. Free Dialysis Services to Launch in 40 Facilities Starting December 1.

From December 1, 2024, the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) will provide free dialysis services in 40 health facilities across Ghana. This move aims to relieve patients who struggle to afford the high cost of treatment, which ranges from GHC300 to GHC1,000 per session. NHIA CEO Dr. Dacosta Aboagye assured the public that the initiative is sustainable and will remain intact regardless of government changes.The NHIA plans to meet with facility heads on November 26 to finalize the rollout. GMX: New Ghanaian music streaming platform launched.

Ghana Music Xperience (GMX), a new Ghanaian-owned music streaming platform, was officially launched in Accra on October 31, 2024. The event took place at the De Icon Centre, with notable attendees including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who emphasized the platform's role in preserving Ghanaian culture and supporting local artists.Dr. Bawumia highlighted that GMX aims to boost the music business in Ghana and serves as a dedicated space for Ghanaian music, setting it apart from other streaming services. Ato Aduenu Tandoh, General Manager of Omni Strategies, the company behind GMX, called on stakeholders to support the platform's mission of empowering artists.The platform is set to become operational in January 2025. This initiative is seen as a significant step in Ghana's digitalization journey, reflecting a commitment to a "Ghana First" agenda and fostering economic growth within the creative arts.
