Lviv Terror Attack Kills Officer, Injures Dozens
A 23-year-old police officer has died and 25 others were wounded in a terror attack in Lviv, western Ukraine. Authorities reported that two homemade bombs exploded after police responded to a break-in shortly after midnight on Sunday. The explosives were hidden in trash bins. Eleven victims were hospitalized, including six officers in critical condition. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that a suspect had been arrested. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi identified the suspect as a Ukrainian woman. The slain officer has been named Viktoria Shpylka. She had joined the force at the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in the Kherson region. The National Police described her as a young officer dedicated to her duty.
