Police condemn deadly attack on Anambra church
The Anambra State Police Command has condemned an attack on a church in Lilu, Ihiala Local Government Area, which left one person dead and several others injured. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when armed criminals opened fire on worshippers. Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Monday in Awka. He said the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, described the assault as a heinous and abominable act against innocent worshippers. According to the commissioner, the attack is not only a crime against the community but also a grave affront to peace, the sanctity of life and freedom of worship.
