NDC Candidate Seeks Fresh Election After Alleged Pink Sheet Destruction in Nsawam Adoagyiri.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Amenorpe Philbert Fummey, has taken legal action against the Electoral Commission (EC) after claiming the results in his constituency were compromised by the destruction of vital election documents. Fummey has filed a suit at the Accra High Court, requesting a fresh election and alleging that the EC used invalid pink sheets to collate results for the constituency.Fummey argues that members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) attacked the collation center, destroying some pink sheets. At the time, Fummey’s team had processed 118 out of 203 sheets, but after the attack, only 137 sheets were retrieved, leaving the EC in possession of only 80% of the documents.
