Pogba Returns in Monaco Loss as PSG Stay Top in France

Paul Pogba made his long-awaited return to competitive football in Monaco’s 4-1 defeat to Rennes, marking his first appearance in over two years after battling injuries, a doping ban, and an extortion plot. Entering as a late substitute, Pogba received a warm ovation from both sets of fans and expressed deep gratitude to supporters. Pogba’s ban, shortened from four years to 18 months after a failed drug test, ended in March. Monaco signed him after his Juventus contract was terminated following legal and disciplinary trouble. Despite Monaco's heavy loss, Pogba focused on his fitness goals and the challenge ahead. Paris Saint-Germain extended their Ligue 1 lead with a 3-0 home win over Le Havre, reclaiming top spot. Lens and Marseille also earned wins, with Mason Greenwood netting twice to become the league’s top scorer.

Andre Ayew Returns to Le Havre on One-Year Deal.

Ghanaian international Andre Ayew has rejoined French club Le Havre on a one-year contract as a free agent for the 2024/25 season. This marks his return to Ligue 1 after a successful six-month stint at the club last season, where he scored five goals in 19 appearances and helped the team avoid relegation. The 33-year-old veteran midfielder, who previously played for clubs like Swansea City and Nottingham Forest, aims to bring his extensive experience to a Le Havre side currently positioned 14th in the league after six matches. Notably, Ayew has been absent from the Black Stars squad in the last three call-ups since participating in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
