I’m Laid Back, Not Shy, Olamide Clarifies Misconception
Nigerian rapper Olamide has addressed popular misconceptions about his character, clarifying that his reserved demeanor is not due to shyness but a deliberate laid-back attitude. In a recent interview on Ada’s Room podcast, Olamide (Baddo) described shyness as a lack of confidence and charisma, whereas he simply prefers not to be bothered. “One thing I wish people could understand about me is I am not shy, I am just laid back,” Olamide said. He went on to explain that shyness involves discomfort in facing people, making eye contact, or conversing, while being laid back is a lifestyle choice about conserving energy and avoiding unnecessary interaction. Olamide emphasized his confidence, opting to maintain a calm and composed outlook rather than being outgoing.
