BREAKING: Explosion Rocks Lagos Business Centre – Multiple Injuries Reported
A late-night explosion at a camera shop on Kodesoh Street, Ikeja, left multiple people injured on Friday, sparking panic in the Lagos commercial district. Eyewitnesses reported that the blast occurred when a shop attendant attempted to open a suspicious package delivered to the store. Emergency responders, including police bomb squad (EOD-CBRN), LASTMA officials, and local law enforcement, rushed to the scene to secure the area and assist victims. Eyewitness Accounts: Lucky Okoro, who narrowly escaped the blast, said: “I was about to enter the shop when the explosion threw me backward. A man and a woman inside were trapped in the fire—I just ran for my life.” Olumide Gbeleyi, who was in a nearby hotel, recounted: “Smoke filled the area. A street vendor was badly burned, and another woman had to tear off her burning clothes.” Authorities are investigating whether the package was a deliberate attack or an accidental detonation.
