US Insists It Authored Ukraine Plan After Claims of Russian ‘Wish List’

The US government, led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, has reiterated that its controversial 28-point peace plan for Ukraine was drafted by the US, not Russia, despite claims from some US senators describing it as a Russian “wish list.” The plan, based on input from Russia and Ukraine, calls for Kyiv’s troop withdrawal from contested eastern regions, limits on Ukraine’s armed forces, and freezes battle lines in partially occupied areas. The proposal met with resistance from Ukrainian allies in Europe who claim it leaves Ukraine exposed and does not guarantee security for all Europeans. Details leaked from the plan include: Withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from eastern areas Russia has been unable to conquer. Limits on the size of Ukraine’s military. In Ukraine, heavy Russian aerial assaults included 458 drones and 45 missiles, killing at least seven people and causing widespread emergency blackouts in cities including Kyiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia. Ukrainian energy plants reported the largest attack since the war began. Hollywood star Angelina Jolie visited Mykolaiv and Kherson, sharing on Instagram about the […]

Russian forces have struck a United Nations aid convoy in Ukraine’s southern Kherson region, according to Ukrainian officials. The attack, which took place near the frontline town of Bilozerka, caused significant damage but no casualties. Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the regional military administration, said the Russian strike involved both drones and artillery.“The occupiers deliberately targeted UN OCHA trucks with drones and artillery,” Prokudin stated on social media. He added that the convoy consisted of four vehicles—one was completely destroyed by fire, another severely damaged, while the remaining two escaped harm. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiga, condemned the attack, describing it as “another brutal violation of international law, proving Russia’s utter disregard for civilian lives and its international obligations.” A photo shared by Prokudin showed a white truck bearing the World Food Programme emblem engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke […]
