KATH Breaks Ground for State-of-the-Art Pharmacy Complex.
A groundbreaking ceremony has been held at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi to begin constructing a four-story pharmacy complex. The GH¢43 million project, entirely funded by the hospital's Internally Generated Funds (IGF) through its Drug Revolving Fund, will be executed in three phases.Phase one will include the foundational structure, roofing, and ground floor, allowing pharmaceutical services to start before the entire project is complete. The complex will house a warehouse, production unit, materials room, changing rooms, loading bays, and other essential facilities such as a Total Parenteral Nutrition Unit and Drug Information Center.KATH's CEO, Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah, highlighted that the project addresses longstanding challenges in managing pharmaceutical products, improving efficiency, and enhancing healthcare delivery in the Ashanti Region. The initiative underscores KATH’s commitment to building a healthier future for its patients.
