Troops Arrest Suspected Gunrunner and Wife in Kaduna

Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace (JTF-OPEP), have arrested a suspected gunrunner and his wife in Saminaka, Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Maj. Samson Zhakom, the media officer of the operation, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Wednesday in Jos. The JTF-OPEP is responsible for maintaining peace in Plateau, Kaduna, and Bauchi states. According to Zhakom, the suspects, aged 40 and 18, were arrested on October 8 during a joint operation with troops from Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY). FG Secures N250bn for Kaduna, Kano Light Rail Projects

The Federal Government has secured N250 billion to fund light rail projects in Kaduna and Kano States, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, announced on Monday in Abuja. Speaking at a world press conference, Idris said President Bola Tinubu’s administration is committed to balanced and inclusive development across all regions. KADUNA — Tragedy struck Karatudu New Extension in Ungwan Romi, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Tuesday night when a high-voltage electricity surge killed two residents and destroyed several houses. The surge, reportedly caused by a fault in a feeder line linked to the community’s transformer, triggered fire outbreaks that spread quickly across homes. Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. One victim, Elder Johnson Babatunde Atteh, was electrocuted while trying to switch off a freezer in his room.
