Urgent Call for Justice in Togo
The people of Togo have endured over six decades under a regime passed from father to son, where liberty is stifled and dissent punished. For too long, their voices have been silenced, their elections manipulated, and their basic rights denied. Yet the world has often remained silent, even as similar crises elsewhere have drawn swift international intervention. The principle of equity demands that what is deemed just in one nation should apply equally in another. The world has acted in Kosovo, Libya, and against regimes in Russia, North Korea, and Iran. Why, then, should Togo’s suffering be overlooked? To ignore it is to undermine the very foundations of international law and the ideals enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
