Volta Minister Vows to Protect Tidal Wave Victims
The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has assured residents of Ketu South affected by tidal waves that the government is taking urgent steps to safeguard lives and address the crisis.During a visit to the hardest-hit communities—Agavedzi, Amutinu, and Salakope—he acknowledged the devastation caused by the sea’s invasion, which has destroyed homes, displaced families, and even forced the exhumation of bodies from cemeteries. Some residents reported that two women died from heart attacks after losing their homes.Gunu, accompanied by security officials and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), stated that the government is committed to finding long-term solutions.
