Barau to lead Senate team on condolence visit to Sheik Dahiru Bauchi’s family
Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin will lead a delegation of the Senate on a condolence visit to the family of the late Islamic scholar, Sheik Dahiru Usman Bauchi, as well as the people and government of Bauchi State. The visit follows the death of the prominent cleric, who was widely respected across Nigeria for his religious scholarship and influence. During plenary, the Senate held a minute of silence in honour of Sheik Dahiru Bauchi and described his passing as a major loss to the Muslim community and the nation. The Senate also urged the Federal Government to name a suitable national monument after the late cleric as a way of immortalising his legacy and contributions to Islamic education and peace.
