Police Neutralise Wanted Notorious Criminal In Ebonyi
The Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the death of Isaiah Okoronkwo, a notorious suspected criminal kingpin accused of terrorising the Iyonu community in Ishielu Local Government Area. In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, the suspect had long been on the police wanted list due to his involvement in violent crimes and robberies in the area. Ukandu said the operation was carried out on 29th August 2025 by operatives of the Command’s Crack Squad, following credible intelligence on the criminals’ hideout in Iyonu Forest. “During the clearance operation, the hoodlums engaged operatives in a gun battle. The police responded decisively and subdued them. In the exchange of fire, the syndicate’s leader, Isaiah Okoronkwo, was neutralised,” the PPRO stated.
