Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division in Sokoto have neutralised a notorious bandit kingpin, Kachalla Kallamu, during an operation in Sabon Birnin Local Government Area. Ndume hails Tinubu on security, urges northern govs to emulate Zulum

Police condemn deadly attack on Anambra church

The Anambra State Police Command has condemned an attack on a church in Lilu, Ihiala Local Government Area, which left one person dead and several others injured. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says the Boko Haram insurgency has now lasted for about 15 years, making it longer than the Nigerian civil war. Troops rescue 25 hostages arrest 10 suspects in nationwide raids

FG reaffirms resolve to tackle insecurity, backs Jigawa PCVE plan

Troops rescue six kidnapped victims in Kogi

Troops of the Nigerian Army, working with other security agencies, have rescued six kidnap victims during a joint operation in Kogi State.​ The operation was carried out around the Osara–Okene axis after security forces received credible intelligence on the movement and location of the kidnappers and their hostages.​ Acting on the information, the troops and other security personnel launched a coordinated raid on the criminals’ hideout, engaging the suspects and forcing them to abandon the captives and flee into the surrounding forest.​ All six victims were rescued alive and taken into safety, where they received medical checks and counselling before being reunited with their families.​ The security agencies vowed to sustain the offensive against criminal gangs operating in Kogi and neighbouring states, calling on residents to continue sharing timely information to support ongoing operations.​
