The President of Commonwealth Sport, Donald Rukare, has praised Nigeria and India for their “dynamic and ambitious” bids to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, marking the centenary edition of the event. Both nations have formally submitted proposals, with Nigeria seeking to host the Games for the first time after losing the 2014 bid to Glasgow, Scotland. India, which previously hosted the Games in Delhi in 2010, is using the 2030 bid as part of its broader ambition to secure the 2036 Olympic Games for Ahmedabad.
