L’annonce, faite par Mary Sturgis, officier consulaire à l’ambassade des États-Unis à Lomé, a jeté un froid parmi les nombreux ressortissants vivant dans l’illégalité sur le sol américain. Ces individus figurent sur une liste de plus d’un million de personnes recensées en novembre dernier par les services d’immigration américains. Et ce chiffre est en constante augmentation. « Je recommande à mes amis togolais concernés de rentrer volontairement avant qu’il ne soit trop tard. Les conséquences sont bien moins graves lorsqu’on prend l’initiative de revenir de soi-même », a prévenu Mme Sturgis. New UK Visa Application Centre in Ghana Enhances Service Speed and Accessibility.

As of October 22, 2024, Ghana’s UK visa application services will now be managed by VFS Global, replacing TLScontact. This transition is expected to streamline application processes with reduced biometric and submission times and an average passport collection time of 20 minutes. Located at the Grand Oyeeman Building in Accra, the new center promises improved customer service, including clearer service information. According to Marc Owen, Director at UK Visas and Immigration, this change brings “digital innovations and convenience” for Ghanaian applicants. Existing visa processes, fees, and rules remain unaffected by the new VAC supplier.
