Mahama Appoints COP Yohunu as New IGP, Relieves Dampare
President John Dramani Mahama has relieved Dr. George Akuffo Dampare of his duties as Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and appointed Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohunu as his successor. The announcement was made in a press release issued by the Presidency on March 13, 2025.COP Yohunu, a veteran with over 40 years of experience in law enforcement, will be sworn in as IGP on March 14.
