Super Falcons’ Ifeoma Onumonu Retires From Football at 31
Super Falcons striker, Ifeoma Onumonu, has announced her retirement from professional football at the age of 31. The forward made the announcement on her Instagram page on Saturday, stating, "It is with a heart full of gratitude that I bid farewell to my playing career on the pitch." Onumonu recently won the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations with the Nigerian national team. She began her international career with the United States at the U-23 level before switching her allegiance to represent Nigeria. Her last club was Montpellier in the French women's league. She did not specify a reason for her decision to retire at this time.
