Troops destroy terrorist camps, rescue kidnap victims in Kwara operations
Troops of 22 Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army have launched sustained offensive operations against terrorist and bandit groups in Kwara State, destroying multiple camps and rescuing kidnap victims. Army spokesperson Captain Maureen Ogbuka said the week long operations were carried out with support from the Office of the National Security Adviser under the leadership of Major General Chinedu Nnebife, GOC 2 Division and Commander Sector 3 Operation Fansan Yamma, and Brigadier General Nicholas Rume, Commander 22 Brigade. She said the operations reflect a high level of readiness and determination to dismantle terrorist networks in the Joint Operations Area. According to the statement, troops on fighting patrols, working with ONSA, raided several bandit enclaves, killing one terrorist while others fled into the forest with suspected gunshot wounds.
