ICPC raids El Rufai’s Abuja home amid corruption probe

Operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission have searched the Abuja residence of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El Rufai. The raid took place on Thursday while the former governor remained in the custody of the anti graft agency over an ongoing investigation. El Rufai’s media aide, Muyiwa Adekeye, confirmed the operation in a brief statement, saying ICPC officials searched the entire property. EFCC holds on to El-Rufai over alleged ₦432bn fraud probe

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is keeping former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai in custody as detectives intensify investigations into alleged mismanagement of about ₦423–₦432 billion during his eight-year tenure. El-Rufai, who honoured an invitation at the EFCC headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, arrived on Monday morning and has now spent at least two nights in detention while answering questions on loans, contracts and financial transactions executed between 2015 and 2023. ICPC files criminal case against Mike Ozekhome over UK property

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has filed a three-count criminal charge against senior lawyer Mike Ozekhome over an alleged fraudulent attempt to acquire a property in the United Kingdom.​ The case is linked to a London property located at 79 Randall Avenue, Neasden, London NW2, which was the subject of a 2025 judgment by the UK First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber). President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has given Kaduna based businessman Kailani Mohammed a seven day ultimatum to retract alleged defamatory statements against him or face a N100 billion lawsuit. Nigeria has unveiled a groundbreaking anti-fraud framework with the official launch of the ISO 37003:2025 Fraud Control Management Systems standard, in partnership with the British Standards Institution (BSI). FG rejects US report on lack of transparency in procurement

The Federal Government has dismissed a report by the United States Department of State alleging that Nigeria lacks transparency in its public procurement process. The 2025 Fiscal Transparency Report had listed Nigeria among 32 African countries said to have made little or no progress in the fiscal policy space. While acknowledging that Nigeria had improved in publishing budget documents and debt obligations, the report faulted the country for failing to disclose information on public procurement contracts. It also criticised the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation for not publishing comprehensive audit reports, citing weak institutional independence as a major setback.
