Comfort Emmanson: Airlines Lift Lifetime Ban, List Behaviours Considered ‘Unruly’
The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has lifted the lifetime ban placed on Comfort Emmanson after her clash with Ibom Air crew members, but also released a list of actions it considers unacceptable on flights. AON spokesperson Prof. Obiora Okonkwo said in a Thursday statement that the decision followed the intervention of Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, who appealed for leniency. Emmanson’s charges were dropped after she reportedly showed remorse, and Ibom Air withdrew its complaint. The association, however, stressed that aviation safety remains a top priority and urged government agencies to start public campaigns about the dangers and penalties of unruly conduct at airports and onboard aircraft.
