Czech citizen imprisoned in Venezuela released, foreign minister says
A Czech national imprisoned in Venezuela since 2024 on allegations of involvement in a plot to assassinate then President Nicolas Maduro and overthrow his government has been released, Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka has announced. The man was freed alongside other foreign detainees as part of a broader release of political prisoners by Venezuelan authorities.
