The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the alleged possession and transportation of substances suspected to be narcotic drugs in the Volta Region. The suspect, identified as Godsway Kwaku Dogbey, was taken into custody on Friday, January 23, 2026, following an intelligence-led police operation. According to a police statement, officers intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number GV 2460-14 near Tarso Hotel in Ho. The vehicle is registered to the Ghana Health Service. Police say the suspect failed to comply with a stop signal at the OLA Top checkpoint. Instead of halting, he allegedly accelerated through the barrier, prompting officers to pursue the vehicle.
