Tragedy in Abuja as mother dies while saving her baby in multiple car crash
A young mother has died after rescuing her baby from a horrific multiple car crash on the Yangoji Abuja corridor, eyewitnesses and officials say. The accident, which occurred near the Usman Dam Road axis, involved several vehicles including a heavily loaded truck that reportedly lost its brakes on a steep slope. Witnesses told Vanguard that the woman managed to unstrap her infant from the back seat and push the child clear of their vehicle moments before impact. She was, however, crushed as the runaway truck rammed into cars stuck in traffic ahead, sparking a chain collision.
