Robber Who Attacked Pregnant Woman at Tsikpota Jailed for 19 Years
On May 21, 2025, around 4:00 a.m., armed robber Paul Avortide, alias “Tinted,” accosted Ogechi Chidiebere, a pregnant Nigerian woman, at Tsikpota near New Housing in Ho. Armed with a machete, Avortide forcibly stole her GHS 3,000 and her Tecno Spark 30c phone valued at GHS 2,500 as she walked to the Ho Municipal Hospital for antenatal care. Arrest, Accomplice & Conviction On June 19, 2025, police apprehended Harmony Nbonu (“Arab Money”) at the Ho Main Market, found with the stolen phone. He admitted buying it from Avortide for GHS 850.
