UK Police Search for Asylum Seeker Freed in Error
UK police are searching for an Ethiopian asylum seeker who was mistakenly released from prison after being convicted of sexual offenses. Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu, 38, was serving a one-year sentence for sexually assaulting a teenage girl and a woman. He was due to be deported but was incorrectly released due to a Prison Service error. Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the incident "totally unacceptable" and stated that the man "must be caught and deported for his crimes." Essex Police, leading the investigation, confirmed that Kebatu was last seen boarding a train to London. They are working with the Metropolitan Police and reviewing CCTV footage to locate him.
