World on edge as US, Israel strike Iran and Tehran hits back
The world is on edge after the United States and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran, prompting Tehran to fire missiles across the Middle East in a dangerous military escalation. US President Donald Trump announced that a major combat operation was under way to eliminate what he called the Iranian regime’s military and nuclear threats. The initial strikes hit multiple targets in Iran, including Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, Tabriz, Kermanshah and other cities, as well as locations linked to the country’s leadership and security agencies.
