Etafia backs Nwabali to be fit for Morocco 2025
Former Super Eagles goalkeeper coach Greg Etafia has offered a positive update on Stanley Nwabali’s fitness ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Nwabali, Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper and a key player for Chippa United in South Africa, had recently been sidelined with injury, raising doubts over his availability for the tournament. Speaking from South Africa, Etafia confirmed that the 28 year old has progressed from gym sessions to light training on grass, which he described as a major step in the rehabilitation process. He said he had spoken directly with one of Chippa United’s goalkeepers, who confirmed that Nwabali has resumed training and is feeling much better.
