Residents of Area Two in Sunyani were left unharmed after a fire broke out in a Volta River Authority (VRA) transformer early Thursday morning. The incident caused power outages, plunging parts of the municipality into darkness. By 10:00 a.m., VRA personnel were working to restore electricity.Locals reported hearing an explosion before noticing the transformer ablaze. Efforts to control the fire failed until the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived and extinguished it. No injuries were reported.Assemblyman Abdul Issah expressed gratitude for the swift response by the GNFS, while the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Residents are hopeful that power will be restored soon.
