Friends of Adaklu Graduates 89 Children in Computing, Bridging Technology Gap in Volta Region.
Friends of Adaklu, a non-profit organization, recently celebrated the graduation of 89 children from a computing program in the Adaklu District of Ghana’s Volta Region. Despite heavy rain, the ceremony took place on October 3, 2024, in Adaklu Tsriefe, where students, including two girls who earned international certificates in coding, were honored.The program, which began as a small coding club, now equips children from underserved areas like Adaklu Goefe and Adaklu Helekpe with foundational computer skills. Country Director Stella Kudah highlighted the group’s goal to build basic computer knowledge and expand the curriculum further.Notable graduates include 15-year-old Isabella Teikpa, who, as one of only two African girls in a global coding program, learned to code and design.
