Interior Ministry Denies Assassination Claims on Kissi Agyebeng

The Interior Ministry has denied claims of any assassination attempt on Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, saying it has no record or report of such an incident. The response follows a statement from the Office of the Special Prosecutor, which alleged that Mr Agyebeng had survived two assassination attempts while carrying out his duties. The claim was mentioned by Samuel Appiah Darko, Director of Strategy, Research and Communications at the OSP, during a Newsfile appearance on December 6, 2025, where he also alleged that he had been handcuffed and beaten by 17 police officers. In its December 8 statement, the Ministry said it takes the allegations seriously because such claims, if confirmed, could undermine the government’s work in fighting corruption. IGP Orders Release of Kwahu Queen Mother After Controversial Dawn Raid

Ghana’s Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has stepped in to halt growing tensions in Kwahu after ordering the immediate release of the Queen Mother, Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III. Her arrest followed a dawn operation that has sparked public concern and demands for accountability. In a statement, the Police Service said the IGP has tasked the Police Professional Standards Bureau to probe the circumstances surrounding the raid, adding that any officers found to have acted improperly will face sanctions. New Ghana Armed Forces CDS William Agyapong promoted to rank of Lieutenant General

The new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Major General William Agyapong has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General, a Three-Star General level.
