Ghana Nurses Midwives Protest Over 8-Month Unpaid Salaries
A coalition of more than 7,000 nurses and midwives working in public health facilities across Ghana has staged a protest to demand the immediate release of eight months’ worth of unpaid salaries. The group, known as the Coalition of Unpaid Nurses and Midwives, says they have not received any pay since January 2025, leaving many in severe financial distress. Despite being granted financial clearance by government—a process meant to authorize their salaries—no payments have been made to date.
