Suspects arrested for vehicle theft, gold robbery and galamsey in Western region 

The Western Central Regional Police Command is intensifying its fight against crime, recording three major arrests in April 2025 in connection with vehicle theft, gold robbery, and illegal mining activities across the Western Region. In Tarkwa, one Salifu Gariba was arrested for the theft of a Toyota Land Cruiser (PC), registration number GS 1845-23, belonging to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The vehicle was stolen from the residence of an EPA employee in Budo City in the early hours of 15 April. The suspect was intercepted the following day by officers of the Northern Regional Police Command at Kukobila, along the Tamale–Bolgatanga highway. The vehicle was successfully retrieved. Gariba is currently in police custody as investigations continue. Kwahu Easter: Four arrested for various offenses – Eastern North Police

Four individuals have been arrested by the Eastern North Police for committing various offenses during this year’s Kwahu Easter celebrations. Thousands of revelers from across Ghana and beyond thronged the Kwahu area to participate in the popular Easter festivities. However, despite repeated warnings from security agencies for participants to remain law-abiding, some individuals flouted the rules and were apprehended. Speaking on Adom FM’s Sunday Midday News with Baffuor Owiredu Amoh, Eastern North Regional Police Commander, DCOP Isaac Kwadwo Asante, confirmed the arrests and said the suspects, including one female, are currently in custody. “Four individuals have been arrested for failing to comply with police directives. Some attempted to steal from patrons during the festivities,” he stated.
