Ghana Small-Scale Gold Exports Hit $6.3 Billion in 2025, Surpassing 2024 Output

Ghana’s small-scale gold sector has posted a record-breaking performance, with exports between January and August 2025 reaching 66.7 tonnes, valued at approximately $6.3 billion. The figures, announced by the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, surpass the entire small-scale output for 2024, which stood at 63 tonnes worth $4.6 billion. Mr. Gyamfi made the announcement at the maiden Mining and Minerals Convention in Accra on Tuesday, September 9.
