Poland Italy refuse to join Trump’s Board of Peace
Poland and Italy have said they will not join US President Donald Trump’s new Board of Peace under its current terms, adding to the list of Washington allies staying away from the initiative. The body was launched to support a Gaza ceasefire but is expected to take on a wider role in resolving global conflicts, raising concerns it could rival the United Nations. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told a government meeting that national doubts over the board’s design meant Warsaw would not participate for now. He said Poland would continue to analyse the proposal and stressed that relations with the United States remain a priority, adding that Warsaw does not rule out joining if circumstances change.
