O’Neil named new Strasbourg head coach
French club Strasbourg have appointed Englishman Gary O’Neil as their new head coach following the departure of Liam Rosenior.O’Neil, a former Bournemouth and Wolves manager, has been out of work since leaving Wolves in December 2024. Rosenior left Strasbourg to take over as Chelsea head coach under the shared BlueCo ownership structure linking both clubs.Strasbourg turned to O’Neil as his replacement, confirming the move ahead of their next fixtures in Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France. O’Neil earned praise in England for keeping Bournemouth in the Premier League in 2022–23 and for stabilising Wolves before his exit.Strasbourg see him as a young, modern coach who can build on Rosenior’s work and keep the team competitive in Ligue 1.
