Jimoh Ibrahim gets UN role as Fani Kayode, Omokri, others posted

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, alongside new ambassadorial roles for Femi Fani Kayode, Reno Omokri and other envoys. According to a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu cleared the posting of 65 ambassadors and high commissioners, made up of 31 career diplomats and 34 non career appointees. The postings follow the Senate’s confirmation of all nominees in December 2025. Jimoh Ibrahim, a businessman and former senator who represented Ondo South, will now serve as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative at the UN. Five Tinubu ambassadorial nominees under scrutiny over past controversies
