Iran not seeking war but fully prepared, says minister
Iran’s foreign minister says the country does not want war but is fully prepared to fight if necessary. He also says Tehran is open to talks with the United States if negotiations are fair and based on mutual respect. Abbas Araghchi told a gathering of foreign ambassadors in Tehran that Iran is ready for both conflict and diplomacy. He stressed that any talks must give Iran equal rights and must not be dictated by Washington. Araghchi’s comments come as US President Donald Trump signals that Iran’s leadership is seeking negotiations after he warned of possible military action over the crackdown on protests.
