Fisherfolk in Western Region Demand Transparency in Premix Fuel Fund Management.

Fisherfolk in the Western Region of Ghana are demanding transparency regarding the management of premix fuel funds. They accuse local Premix Fuel Committees of withholding financial reports for several years, particularly in the Shama District, where committees at nine landing beaches have not provided financial records for the past four years.Under the National Premix Fuel Committee Regulations (L.I. 2233), these committees are required to submit reports every three months and allocate 53% of revenue into a community fund for local development projects.
