Emab Plaza fire: Emergency crews still on site after 2 days

Emergency workers are still battling debris and assessing damages two days after a massive fire gutted Emab Plaza, a four-storey commercial complex located behind the Mandilas Building on Lagos Island. The blaze, which broke out late Tuesday night, came just hours after the Afriland Towers fire on Broad Street, sparking renewed concerns about recurring fire disasters in Lagos Island’s crowded business district. According to eyewitnesses, the fire started on the fourth floor of Emab Plaza around 9:23 p.m. before spreading rapidly to three adjoining buildings.
